Milwaukee Marina Engagement Session
Tiffany and Brian are not only magazine gorgeous, but they are also incredibly sweet, kind and so fun to be around! We had the best time shooting their engagement session on a sailboat in the Milwaukee Marina! Lots of laughs – and so fun to have their sweet pup Coconut join us!
We had to reschedule the session a couple of times because of the rainy spring we’ve been having in Wisconsin and even had to move the start time up to beat the storm rolling in late that afternoon. Thankfully we finished up before the rain came, but you can see from the images that it was getting close!
The couple is planning to get married in Florida this July and wanted to do a sailboat engagement session not only because of their love for water, but also because of a poem they found in Tiffany’s grandfather’s bible that reminded us of the foundation of marriage.
My grandfather kept this poem neatly tucked in his Bible. He put this poem into action through his daily walk. When my father passed away, my granddad became like a father to my sister and I. I’m extremely thankful that my sister and I had such a honorable, loving, tender-hearted man to teach us that it’s the set of our souls that determine our goals rather than the waves or winds we may encounter. As Brian and I enter into marriage our prayer is that we are able to navigate through marriage knowing that no matter what the waters hold if we set our souls on Christ, He will navigate us to peaceful waters.
One ship sails East,
And another West,
By the self-same winds that blow,
‘Tis the set of the sails
And not the gales,
That tells the way we go.
Like the winds of the sea
Are the waves of time,
As we journey along through life,
‘Tis the set of the soul,
That determines the goal,
And not the calm or the strife.
